Below are a few highlights of our curriculum.

Curriculum Overview

  • Spirit of Truth

"Spirit of Truth provides interactive, teacher-led lesson plans for every day of the school year, including vivid sacred art reflections, stories of the saints, games, role-plays, and critical thinking questions, to help capture and keep students' attention. Spirit of Truth covers the breadth of the Catechism in a rich and age-appropriate way and is designed to connect with students of diverse backgrounds and differing familiarity with the Catholic Faith. While it's important for students to understand the Faith, Spirit of Truth is designed to help them internalize the Faith and apply it to their own lives, providing ample opportunity for them to reflect on how everything they are learning applies to their own lived experience." -Sophia Institute

  • The Rooted Mind

"The Greek and Latin languages are essential to both the Catholic faith and the classical curriculum. Beginning in kindergarten and continuing through the elementary grades, our students participate in the Rooted Mind. This program introduces students to Greek and Latin root words and their meanings. It recognizes and coorelates the importance of Latin and Greek roots, prefixes, and suffixes within the English language. Students who have a command of roots and their meanings have a distinct advantage in vocabulary acquisition and retention, in reading comprehension, and in taking standardized tests."

  • Institute for Excellence In Writing

“IEW’s unique approach provides the structure that students need to develop confidence in the writing process, while gradually guiding them toward greater independence and creativity. They will learn nine structural models (note taking, writing paragraphs, stories, simple reports, writing from pictures, research reports, creative writing, essays, and critiques) to help them organize any type of composition. Additionally, stylistic techniques (strong verbs, quality adjectives, sentence openers, and more) are taught incrementally to gently move students from the basics into more sophisticated writing.”

  • Spelling Mastery

"SRA Spelling Mastery builds dependable spelling skills for students through a highly structured method that blends the following approaches:

Phonemic approach - helps beginning spellers learn the relationships between spoken sounds and written letters and then apply them to spelling

Morphemic approach - exposes advanced spellers to prefixes, bases, and suffixes

Whole-word approach - gives spellers at all levels the meaning and root of a word and shows how the word's spelling is influenced

Spelling Mastery interweaves these three approaches according to students' skill development and provides straightforward lessons to help efficiently and effectively teach the spelling skills students need to become proficient readers and writers. Explicit instruction, careful selection of spelling words, and repeated and cumulative practice help students master each concept and reinforce and retain key information."

  • The Story of Civilization

"Children should not just read about history, they should live it. In The Story of Civilization, the stories that have shaped humanity come alive like never before. Author Phillip Campbell uses his historical expertise and story-telling ability together in tandem to present the content in a fresh and thrilling way.

The Story of Civilization reflects a new emphasis in presenting the history of the world as a thrilling and compelling narrative. Within each chapter, children will encounter short stories that place them directly in the shoes of historical figures, both famous and ordinary, as they live through legendary battles and invasions, philosophical debates, the construction of architectural wonders, the discovery of new inventions and sciences, and the exploration of the world."

  • Saxon Math

“For over 30 years, Saxon Math has been delivering proven results for students in Grades K-12. The Saxon Math curriculum has an incremental structure that distributes content throughout the year. This integrated and connected approach provides deep, long-term mastery of both content and skills.”

  • Studio 3:16

"Studio 3:16 a supplementary resource for 2nd - 8th grade Catholic school religion classes created to help transform students’ approach to the Bible; so the Bible can transform your students!" Aligned with our Spirit of Truth curriculum, we are grateful for this resource that brings the gospel to life for our students!

  • Mystery Science

“We create content that excites children about the wow in the world around them. We craft explanations around real kid questions. We view ourselves as storytellers: we invest in motivating our explanations and bringing them to life with wow visuals. We see kids as active explorers who learn not by listening and consuming, but by discussing, by building and observing hands-on models, and by writing about what they learn. Success is when kids can’t wait for the next Mystery lesson- and when they go home to enthusiastically share with the adults at home the cool things they learned at school.”
