Curriculum Overview

Spirit of Truth covers the breadth of the Catechism in a rich and age-appropriate way and is designed to connect with students of diverse backgrounds and differing familiarity with the Catholic Faith. "The Greek and Latin languages are essential to both the Catholic faith and the classical curriculum. Beginning in kindergarten and continuing through the elementary grades, our students participate in the Rooted Mind. This program introduces students to Greek and Latin root words and their meanings. It recognizes and coorelates the importance of Latin and Greek roots, prefixes, and suffixes within the English language. Students who have a command of roots and their meanings have a distinct advantage in vocabulary acquisition and retention, in reading comprehension, and in taking standardized tests."

They will learn nine structural models (note taking, writing paragraphs, stories, simple reports, writing from pictures, research reports, creative writing, essays, and critiques) to help them organize any type of composition. Whole-word approach - gives spellers at all levels the meaning and root of a word and shows how the word's spelling is influenced
